OUR LEADERSHIP

BRIAN BUMPASS
Founder & Managing Partner
Brian began his career in logistics with Evergreen Line, handling sales in the South Atlantic region. Between 2008 and 2012, Brian signed 48 new accounts, grew revenue from an initial $8 million to $20+ million per annum, and grew annual volume by over 100%. Moreover, he grew the market share of exports in his territory to 11.4% to Asia and 20.4% to Latin America.
In 2012, he was recruited by the world's largest chemical distributor. During his 10 year tenure there, Brian successfully managed two personnel restructuring projects, set logistics strategies on four continents, and generated total incremental savings/cost avoidance of $32 million while managing $200+ million in transportation spend covering international and domestic modes. In 2018, Brian designed and implemented an index-based pricing model for domestic full truckload freight improving market position from 26.1% above market to 14.4% below market. In 2020, he redesigned the previous bulk tanker fuel model and generated over $5 million per year in cost reduction. The strategies he put in place successfully navigated a number of supply disruptions including the 2015 ILWU labor slowdowns, the 2018 301 tariff implementation, and the 2020-2022 global pandemic.

From 2021 to 2022, Brian served as Chair of the National Shipper Advisory Committee (NSAC) to the Federal Maritime Commission. Under his leadership, the committee raised a number of recommendations focused on equitable application of demurrage/detention, the FMC's governance over rail storage on through bills of lading, and data harmonization across logistics stakeholders.

From 2022 through 2024, Brian served as Vice President of Logistics for a conglomerate of manufacturing and distribution companies in the steel fittings, pipe, and valves verticals largely serving energy and industrial construction industries. Here, Brian led an incoterm conversion initiative, implemented strategic processes for both inbound and outbound logistics, and negotiated below-market cost positions for all transport modes leading to $14.5 million in incremental savings/cost avoidance.

He is also the founder of SEEFREIGHT, a logistics analysis software platform currently in Beta, and is a proud graduate from the University of Georgia.

Brian lives in Houston with his wife, Betiana, and their children Oliver, Nora, Zaina, and Xander.

GIANLUCA FEDELINI
Senior Consultant
Born in the town of Genoa, Italy, Gianluca has always possessed a passion for all things nautical. Although he obtained his captain’s license at a young age, he began his career on land inspecting containers and learning port operations in Charleston, SC, before accepting a position in the Equipment Management & Intermodal department of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). His keen insights into carrier operations brought him up through MSC’s corporate vertical in New York and ultimately into the commercial arm.
Having checked the boxes on the carrier side, Gianluca moved to the shipper side and led logistics for a large cotton trader exporting out of the U.S., South America, and West Africa.
Due largely to the reputation he was building, he was recruited to lead international logistics at KaMin, a Top 50 U.S. exporter, where he directed a $200 million logistics spend, managed a network moving product to 155 ports around the world, and had full supply chain responsibility for terminals in the U.S., Europe, and South America. His key achievements include:
-
Reducing Brazil export costs by 25% through conversion to break bulk.
-
Engineering unique loading processes and techniques to increase weight per container and reducing freight cost per LB by 27%.
-
Negotiating container rates in the bottom 1% of the market.
-
Slashing annual chemical costs by 40% though procurement process optimization.
-
Built and managed cross-functional supply chain productivity teams saving $4 million per annum.
After 15 years, Gianluca left KaMin as Vice President of Global Supply Chain and began his consulting career with USXports and Smart Chain Marketing. He is undeniably equipped to lead strategy, procurement, and network projects with shippers, carriers, and 3PLs. He has worked closely with the Italian Consulate to help Italian companies grow into the Americas and has been the logistics subject matter expert on a number of projects as a sub-contractor for Boston Consulting Group.
Gianluca lives in Macon, GA, with his three children and is an accomplished motocross athlete.
